THE FUGUFILES could be an exciting, fast-paced, beautiful, mobile and unprecedented television series based on submarine exploration and more. It will feature our three new fugusubs and the adventures and issues taken on by the fugusub team in diverse aquatic environments.
Raw exploration, wildlife encounters, natural beauty and environmental concerns continue to be proven subjects of interest. These are broad subjects that fugusub adventures can embrace, visually and verbally, among others.
The human element will be a key feature of every episode, as opinions are expressed and the realities of our aquatic environments are explored. Celebrities, among others, could be invited to explore special places.
Informed perspectives can bring insight and purpose to programming. These could include members of various conservation agencies and groups, research institutions, tribal groups, knowledgeable individuals, existing businesses, entrepreneurs and more. All would be associated with subjects explored by our fugusub team.
Illuminating the importance of some research will show the need to continue it; or for that matter, show a need to begin new research. THE FUGUFILES can serve to gain support by creating awareness for issues that need to be addressed.
Our program will present a balanced menu that will not always feature problems our environment is facing, but also explore the splendor of what is still there. People are more likely to protect something if they know it exists.
There are programs dedicated to aircraft, automotive interests, motorcycles and all kinds of ATVs operating on land. There are programs with all kinds of boats and other water craft operating on the surface of the water, but none below it.
Fugusubs are IN A POSITION TO PIONEER an underwater vehicle based program.
Fugusubs were built for adventure. What they can do and where they can go is nothing less than exotic. People love the exotic, not the mundane. True adventure has proven itself to be a powerful ingredient in the success of many television programs.
People are fascinated with new technology and its uses; as so many popular programs attest. Mechanical beauty, function and appeal are fugusub virtues.
The human element of risk and risk assessment can be an interesting and exciting part of some special fugusub dives. Man and machine, taking chances, is a classic recipe for seizing the attention of viewers. People are mesmerized with uncertain outcomes.
Much of our focus will be on freshwater environments, though brackish and saltwater environments will be visited also. Freshwater is critical for wildlife and civilization itself. Invasive species, over-fishing and chemical pollution are a few examples of why so many freshwater habitats are in dire straights. Additionally, some freshwater domains are under assault by competing interests over water usage, some seeking statutory control of it. These legal/illegal tug-of-wars by competing interests may violate the civil rights of all. Water belongs to all, including the wildlife living there, not just to those who can seize it or deny access to it.
Synchronized turns and other 3D, practiced group movements could add choreography to the show at times. The three subs could form linear and triangular flight formations that could be coordinated with our communication system.
Combined with nature’s spectacular imagery and terrain, different sound tracks could alter or enhance the fugusub experience, providing some unforgettable and unique film energy.
Underwater archaeology continues to be a captivating topic of television interest. This subject continues to expand its frontiers. Shipwrecks in particular have been the primary focus of television interest. Non-shipwreck sites could be looked at also. Artifacts, folklore, petro glyphs, dam-submerged towns and other remnants of the past are still found in or near water all over the world. Wildlife is often in abundance in such locations as well. Fugusubs can examine such sites, and if possible, relate histories. Initially, we would like to focus in and around North America.
There are many aquatic and semi-aquatic animal species that have been largely bypassed or ignored by mainstream television. Some are too important to ignore, some are obscure and relatively unknown. All are worthy of preservation. Their interconnected plights will be examined. We will seek out everything from trophy species of fish to the minnows and invertebrates they feed on. We will look at invasive species and the havoc, or benefits, they impose. Water plants will be examined also.
We would also like to examine the plight of fugu fish (puffer fish), as they are special to us and to the many people who see them in their various forms.
A lifelong interest and study of turtles, including the captive breeding of nine species, will be put to use in this series. The desperate plight of many freshwater and brackish water turtle species remains unheard and unknown. Turtles will be a recurring special interest. Ideally, we would like to do for freshwater turtles what the great Steve Irwin did for crocodilians. If we can accomplish a fraction of that lofty goal with the use of our fugusubs and this program, some species may tilt towards survival.
If possible, we would like to explore some of the world’s great public aquariums in fugusubs and meet with some of their marine residents. “How would they respond?” is the great question, especially for the larger and more intelligent ones. Assuming all personal risks, perhaps some of the great public aquariums might be the safest places to find out. An aquarium or a circuit of them could provide many original film opportunities while benefitting the aquariums with media exposure and the revenues of curious onlookers. Research could extend beyond aquariums for species found to be fugusub friendly. We can add a refreshing new look at some well known species as they interact with fugusubs for the first time.
We want a dynamic program that will take viewers with us to places of rare beauty, interest and exceptional concern. These could be anything from remote alpine lakes to coastal reefs. Urban, suburban, country and true wilderness waters will be investigated. We want this show to be on the move both above and below the water, adding local surface environments and circumstances into the visual and informational equation. We want our program to be informative and entertaining. We want people to see and hear things that they are not likely to find elsewhere.
Collectively, combinations of the subjects mentioned above can make for some refreshing, first rate television programming. We seek financial assistance to make this series come into fruition. We invite all commercial sponsors, other groups or individuals who are interested in financially assisting us, to contact us. Your participation may be possible.
